“The Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) program is a flagship initiative of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Over the past 30 years, the AAP CATCH program has funded over 1200 pediatricians, pediatric medical subspecialists, pediatric surgical specialists, and fellowship trainees and 700 pediatric trainees, to collaborate within their communities creating positive change for children, including child health improvements, increased access to care, and innovative strategies to address child health disparities. AAP CATCH grant recipients indicate many professional rewards from their involvement: new skills for community advocacy; mentorship; leadership opportunities; and impacts on their career trajectories.
CATCH provides funding and guidance for innovative, community-based projects across the U.S. and Canada. What We Fund:
- Projects led by pediatricians, pediatric medical subspecialists, and pediatric surgical specialists, fellowship trainees, residents, or APPs
- Partnerships with local community organizations
- Initiatives that support children and families facing health challenges
- Programs that improve access to care and overall well-being
- Projects with measurable results and long-term impact.”

Eligibility: “General pediatricians, pediatric medical subspecialists, pediatric surgical subspecialists, and fellowship trainees from the United States and its territories and Canada. | U.S. and Canadian pediatric residents (categorical or combined) in a training program AND have a definite commitment for another year of residency or chief year. | U.S. and Canadian pediatric advance practice providers (ie pediatric nurse practitioner) with a pediatrician as a co-applicant. | National and chapter AAP membership must be current before grant funds can be disbursed.”
